Samina Hadi-Tabassum graduated from Northwestern University in 1993 with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Biology. She worked as a classroom teacher for 10 years through Teach for America. She received her doctorate from Teachers College, Columbia University in anthropology and education. She was a professor in the School of Education at Â鶹´«Ã½ from 2002 to 2015. After serving at Erikson Institute and Elmhurst University, she returned to Â鶹´«Ã½ in 2025 and works in the Student Success and Engagement Office.
